OUR STORY
Welcome to Antrobus Preschool Nursery
We pride ourselves on our approach to the care and education we offer to the children attending our setting.
We are a very small nursery and offer a homely, relaxed environment in which the children can thrive and grow in their own time and at their own pace. Children settle quickly and enjoy their time at nursery.
Our practical approach to childcare allows us to deliver a curriculum which can be tailored to the unique characteristics of each child. This ensures each child can flourish in an environment which is nurturing whilst stimulating and challenging to them.
We have a love for outdoor learning and spend lots of time outside and in our very own Little Woodland School which is onsite.
We seek to build solid foundations to help children on their learning journey through the Early Years Foundation Stage and on into a lifelong love of learning.
We have a sister setting - Appleton Thorn Preschool to form The Little Woodland Nursery Group.

PLANNING
We use "In the moment planning" where the children can learn through play and are encouraged to build on their interests and events in their life.
For our older children we prepare them for school by incorporating adult led experiences, supporting children to learn the skills they need for life in a relevant and fun way.
OUTSIDE
Outdoor learning is so important to support learning and wellbeing of the children. We love to be outside, exploring nature, asking questions and learning physical skills. At Antrobus Preschool Nursery we also love to explore our local area and go on outings regularly.
THE LITTLE WOODLAND
Our special woodland learning area opened in June 2020 and allows children to spend time in the fresh air, exploring and learning in an beautiful and healthy outdoor environment. Our wonderful rural surroundings allow us the freedom to explore the sounds and sights of nature.
HOME FROM HOME
It is our passion to create an environment that is nurturing, warm and inviting. We particularly feel we provide an environment in which children instantly feel at home. Our staff fit in with this ethos by being friendly, caring and welcoming.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
All children are welcome at Antrobus Preschool Nursery. We support children's understanding of the world and diverse cultures and people through real world experiences. We also support children to treasure and be proud of their own cultures and experiences.
HEALTH AND ORAL HYGIENE
Children's wellbeing is so important to us. Physical health is a big part of this and we understand how important our role in teaching the children about their health is. We support children to understand healthy and unhealthy foods and what a good balance is, we provide healthy snacks and try different foods.
We also enjoy supporting our children to learn about oral hygiene including how to brush their teeth at nursery.
SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS
We ensure that children's time with us is special and we hold special celebrations, such as singing concerts, special visits and our school leavers ceremony. This year we held it in our woodland it really was magical
Community
We love our village and like to encourage families to join in with local events such as the Rose Queen and Christmas Festivals.
